SCHOOL SECURITY PLAN

Technology and individuals are inseparable in today's world. The Internet has brought many benefits and innovations to our lives as part of our social life. In addition to the benefits and conveniences it brings, unconscious use of the internet presents threats to individual and social life. As these threats increase, the use of the Internet as a safe has become a necessity. To ensure a safe environment, we need to understand the types, frequency, and solutions of risks to reduce or better eliminate them.

Educators, parents, media and all other related persons should take a common responsibility especially for the protection of the rights and needs of children, young people and citizens.

One of the risks children face online is cyberbullying or online victimization. Using electronic forms of communication, bullying or harassment of some individuals can be clearly defined as some examples of cyber bullying. One way of addressing cyber bullying on the Internet is to establish the link between school bullying and cyber bullying. School bullying is the verbal or physical violence of a child to another child of similar age. If we are able to solve school bullying, we will also take potentially effective prevention measures to counter online bullying. Young people and adults often have different interpretations of online victimization. While adults tend to treat some actions in some way, young people may describe the same examples as a normal activity among their peers, but they start with an offline problem. Schools should establish policies to facilitate the establishment of a school-wide bullying prevention program, and through these policies, periodically evaluate their effectiveness and take measures accordingly. Successful and effective programs are implemented to promote anti-bullying strategies at all levels in the school, from individual students and classes to anti-bullying teams that connect educators and students.

INSAFE (European Safer Internet Network) network was established in 2004 within the scope of the Secure Internet Program established in 1999 by the European Commission in order to support children and young people to use the internet safely within a certain responsibility and to protect them from the illegal and harmful contents of the internet. INSAFE, established to pioneer awareness raising activities within the framework of the conscious and safe use of the Internet, is today a network that coordinates the Secure Internet Center of 31 countries in Europe. In addition, the Secure Internet Day (GIG), organized by the INSAFE network in February each year, has been held since 2004. In Turkey, the Secure Internet Day activities were first held in 2010.On February 5, 2019, we celebrated a secure internet day at our school.

As Adnan Menderes Primary School, we organized various activities related to Secure Internet Day within the scope of eTwinning school activities. We made visual awareness studies with school board, posters, parent information brochure.

Heavy internet users may encounter inappropriate content online; Young people can often be exposed to sexual harassment or sexual content online. Unlimited content on the World Wide Web can take immature young people to a vast collection of unwanted sexual content and information. Examples include requests for sexual intercourse, sexual conversations, sending or requesting sexual photos, or disclosing unwanted sexual information. In addition, when surfing the web for non-sexual content through unwanted pop-ups, young people sometimes encounter obscene content or sexual imagery / videos. They may receive email scams.

The most common recommended strategy for dealing with unwanted sexual encounters is to encourage young people to block such providers, help them, or leave the online forum where they have problems. Since most young people tend to exclude adults when they meet online for shame, parents and educators need to be aware of the signs they need to pay attention to to indicate that young people may face difficulties. Therefore, courses and informative interviews are often organized by schools or local councils, while other effective methods include filtering and firewall technologies. In addition, companies providing internet access provide safer online environments for their users, therefore, they are encouraged to encourage another way to address online risks.

Many of the risks posed by the Internet can be mitigated if young people are more proactively protecting their online privacy. They need to be trained to be less willing to disclose personal information online and know how to manage their privacy. This type of education is especially important in schools from a young age. Because of the generation gap between parents and their children, there is a possibility of misunderstanding that may prevent them from trusting each other and thus effectively control online risk. Therefore, communication between young people and adults should be encouraged; measures.Such dialogues can also encourage young people to educate their parents about online resources and websites.

It is very important to discuss internet security measures in the world of tomorrow. The benefits of the Web are part of our modern culture, and we should not allow many of our technological advances to backfire on the safety of young people themselves.

                                                                 E-SECURITY POLICY
Digital technologies also provide exceptional opportunities and opportunities for school-age children. Children can easily and quickly access information, fun games and similar activities with the help of the internet environment. However, in addition to these wonderful opportunities provided by digital technologies, the danger that the child may be exposed to mental, psychological and physical attacks and traps is an undeniable reality. For example, it is possible for a child on the Internet to enter a pornographic site, either unintentionally, by watching an advertisement or by typing it into the search engine inadvertently, or a visual that provokes the child's curiosity will endanger him mentally, emotionally or physically. environments.Due to some online games, there is a high chance of encountering a child who is mentally or physically victimized, which frightens parents, worries and horrors.

Due to the rapidly developing digital technologies, and unfortunately, it is not possible to keep the child completely away from the internet, and prohibiting it completely does not solve the problem. Moreover, due to environmental factors and parental attitudes, it has become impossible to completely ban the internet environment and to prevent access. Therefore, to protect the child from the dangers posed by the Internet environment, it is necessary to find more effective measures than to completely prohibit it.

There is no more effective way for children to protect themselves against the negative dangers of the Internet than to provide the child with information, awareness and behavior, and to strive for this goal. In this study, it is only in primary schools with family participation. With the projects we do on the eTwinning portal, it is possible to access the internet with computers, tablets or phones under the supervision of our families. In addition, in order to prevent children from spending hours on the internet, activities with family participation are organized in our school. With these activities, parents have the opportunity to spend more quality time with their children. Children spend less time on the Internet because they spend the necessary time with their parents. Our goal is permanent behavior change. Therefore,As a school policy, we are committed to protecting our students from the dangers and harms of the internet environment.
